Heat vs Hornets Recap

The Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat after outscoring them 30-17 in the third quarter. The win moves the Hornets to 2-1 while the Heat fall to 0-3.

A tie after the first quarter turned into an 8-point Hornets lead at halftime, 66-58. Charlotte stretched it to 96-75 after three quarters. The Hornets won the rebounding 45 to 37, and Miami's 35-19 fourth quarter came too late.

Brandon Miller scored 34 points for Charlotte on 10 of 29 shooting, with 11 of 12 at the line. Davion Mitchell answered with 22 points and 10 assists for the Heat. Charlotte also made 16 three-pointers to Miami's 13, which added up to a 9-point edge from deep.
