How many games are in an NBA season?

Each of the 30 teams plays 82 regular-season games, 1,230 in all. The top six in each conference reach the playoffs, and teams 7 to 10 meet in the Play-In Tournament.

When does the 2026-27 NBA season start and end?

The 2026-27 regular season runs from October 20, 2026 to April 11, 2027. The playoffs follow in April, and the NBA Finals in June.

Is there an NBA game tonight?

What time do NBA games start?

Most weeknight games tip off between 7:00 and 8:00 PM local time, which is 7:00 to 10:30 PM Eastern across the four US time zones. National TV doubleheaders usually start at 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM ET; weekend and holiday games can start as early as 12:00 PM ET. Every time on this site is shown in ET with your own time zone next to it.

How long does an NBA game last?

Four 12-minute quarters, but with timeouts, halftime and free throws a game runs about 2 hours 15 minutes; overtime adds five minutes of play each period, roughly 15 minutes of real time.

How can I watch NBA games?

National games air on NBC and Peacock, ESPN and ABC, and Prime Video. Every other game is on the local channel in each team's market and on NBA League Pass outside it. The TV Schedule page lists every national game and each team's local channel.

How many teams are in the NBA?

30 teams, split into the Eastern and Western Conference with 15 each, and six divisions of five. Sixteen make the playoffs: the top six in each conference directly, and two more per conference through the Play-In Tournament.

When do the NBA playoffs start?
